(b) Acetophenone gives iodoform first  & gives a yellow precipitate on addition ofNaOH and I_{2} but benzophenone one does not.

   

 

(c) The acidity of \alpha - hydrogen atom of carbonyl carbon is due to the strong e^{-}withdrawing effect of the carbonyl group and resonance stabilisation of the conjugate base.
