Convex lens -

Object distance (u) = -12\; cm

                            m=\frac{-2}{3}

            focal length = ?

Magnification (m) =\frac{v}{u}

                    \frac{-2}{3}=\frac{v}{-12}

                        v=8\; cm

Use lens formula, \frac{1}{f}=\frac{1}{v}-\frac{1}{u}

                             \frac{1}{f}=\frac{1}{8}-\frac{1}{(-12)}

                            \frac{1}{f}=\frac{1}{8}+\frac{1}{12}

                            f=\frac{24}{5}=4.8\; cm
