a) The Ozone layer at the upper atmosphere perform the function of absorbing the harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays which are coming from the sun and prevents them from reaching the earth. These UV rays cause harmful effects to humans, even to animals and plants also.

b) When heat and sunlight cause chemical reactions between oxides of nitrogen (NOx ) and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), which are also known as Hydrocarbons then ozones are formed.      

c) Chlorofluorocarbons
