A triangular prism of refracting angle 60^{o} is made of a transparent material of refractive index 2/\sqrt{3} . A ray of light is incident normally on the face KL as shown in the figure. The refracting angle is 60^{o}

A=60^{o}

Since at first face ray does not deviate, r_1=0

Therefore

A=r_1+r_2\\\Rightarrow r_2=A=60

Applying snells law at second face

 \frac{2}{\sqrt{3}}\sin 60^{o}=\sin r

\therefore \sin r=1

Hence, r = 90^{o}, is the angle of emergency,

So the angle of deviation is equal to 30^{o}.
