(i) Function of Ovary

1. It produces female gametes (ova)

2. It secretes female sex hormones.

3. It secretes inhibin involved in feedback control of pituitary FSH production.

Function of oviduct

1. Fertilization takes place here.

2. The fertilised ovum travels towards the uterus through the fallopian tube

The function of the uterus.

1. It supports and nourishes the developing foetus.

2. It expands according to the growth of the baby.

Structure of uterus.

The uterus is a bag-like structure, where the embryo is developed and implanted. It helps the embryo to grow into a foetus and also develop the thick lining of blood vessels every month in order to receive the fertilized egg. Its rhythmic contraction helps the baby to come out from the mother's womb.

(ii) The function of Placenta: It exchange material between the mother's blood and blood of foetus takes place through the placenta. It serves as a nutritive respiratory and excretory organ of the foetus.

Structure

The placenta is a disc/shaped tissue embedded in the uterine wall once the implementation of the embryo takes place. It has million the enbryoside and blood space on mother side
