(a) Xylem Trachelds and Xylem vessels.
Cells of roots are in close contact with the soil actively take up ions.
Creates a difference in concentration of ions.
Hence osmotic pressure increases the movement of water from the soil into roots which occurs continuously.
(b) Plants do not need to move from one place to another place. movements in the plants are usually at a cellular level, that's why less amount of energy is required by plants. On the other hand, animals need to move in search of food.
