The main differences between Algae & Bryophytes are : 

  • Algae are mostly aquatic organisms whereas bryophytes lives on both land and water. 
  • Stomata and pores are absent in algae whereas they are present in bryophytes. 
  • Algal members can be both unicellular or multicellular whereas bryophytes are mostly multicellular organisms. 
  • Rhizoids are absent in algae whereas, rhizoids are present in bryophytes. 
  • Every cell in the plant body is capable of reproduction in algae whereas, in bryophytes, only the apical cells are capable of reproduction
