Human is a social animal who survive in a society where he develops various beliefs, attitude, values, preferences and habits. Ethics and values help develop these skills. The word ethics is derived from an ancient Greek word ethos which means habit, custom or character. Values are the motive behind purposeful actions. Personal values are personal beliefs. Values and ethics help us to choose between what is right and what is wrong. Our values comprise of qualities like leadership, sportsmanship, responsibility, respect and integrity. Ethics and values help an individual develop feelings of patriotism, dedication and friendship. In ethics, importance is given on the action plan i.e., the right path. But there is degradation in human values,people are lacking in honesty, empathy towards the other person. They lack truthfulness and dedication. They follow shortcuts in completing their tasks and in the process, they never respectother person's sentiments.
