(i)  Sodium is a group one element so its electronic configuration is 2,8,1 and       its valency is 1. Oxide has a valency of 2. So, formula for sodium oxide is       Na_{2}O.

(ii) Halide is an halogen. Group13 means we can take aluminium whose      configuration is 2,8,3 so its valency is 3 and valency of chlorine is 1. So, the      formula would be AlCl_{3}.

(iii) Element of group 2 means magnesium whose valency is 2 and element of       group17 means chlorine whose valeny is 1. So, its formula will be MgCl_{2}
