Calculate the image distance for an object of height 12mm at a distance of 0.20m from a concave lens of focal length 0.30m. What is the nature and size of the image

Answers (1)

object distance = -0.2m=-20cm

f=-0.3 m=-30 cm (concave lens)

By lens fornula

\\\frac{1}{f}=\frac{1}{v}-\frac{1}{u}\\\\\frac{1}{-30}=\frac{1}{v}-\frac{1}{-20} \\\\\frac{1}{v}=-\frac{1}{20}-\frac{1}{30}\\\\implies\ v=-12cm

magnification

m=\frac{v}{u}=\frac{-12}{-20}=0.6cm

The image is diminished, erect and virtual
