(i)

 \nu =RC\left [ \frac{1}{n^{2}_{f}}-\frac{1}{n^{2}_{i}} \right ]

\nu _{1}=RC\left [ \frac{1}{n^{2}_{f}}-\frac{1}{n^{2}_{i}} \right ]

=\left [ \frac{1}{1^{2}}-\frac{1}{2^{2}} \right ]

     \nu _{1}=RC\left [ \frac{3}{4} \right ]

(ii) 

\nu _{2}=RC\left [ \frac{1}{2^{2}}-\frac{1}{\infty } \right ]

            =RC\left [ \frac{1}{4} \right ]

    \frac{\nu _{1}}{\nu _{2}}=3
