The story had four main characters, the child, Johnny who was a ten years old boy. He was very naughty and can think of many different ways to annoy his family members. He was the son of a wealthy man, named Ebenezer Dorset. The child was kidnapped by two thieves named Bill and Sam for ransom. But the child kept on playing red chief game with them where he physically abused him, childish demands and continuous chattering. Ebenezer Dorset was quite fed up of his own kid. He was a careless parent and was sure that his child would cause a lot of problem to the kidnapper. Infact, he went one step ahead by demanding money from the thieves to take the child back,which they did in the end.
