Conducting tissue responsible for the growth of root and stem is vascular tissue. Vascular tissue is a complex conducting tissue formed of more than one cell type. They are made up of two specialized conducting tissue that is xylem and phloem. Xylem tissue transports water and nutrients from the roots to different parts of the plant. It plays a role to provide mechanical support to the stem. On the other hand, phloem transports food across all parts of the plant.
