# Define electrostatic force?

The electrostatic force of attraction or repulsion between two charges is directly proportional to the product of the two charges and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them.

$\\F\propto \frac{Q_{1}Q_{2}}{r^{2}} \\ \\ \\F=\frac{KQ_{1}Q_{2}}{r^{2}}$

K = Proportionality Constant

$Q_1$ and $Q_2$ are two Point charges

known as absolute permittivity of air or free space
