1. Food chain - Food chain is referred to as a  series of organisms taking part at various biotic levels. Each level of the food chain forms a trophic level.Examples of food chains are : 
Grass → Grasshopper →  Frogs →  Snakes → Hawk 
 

2. Biotic factors of the ecosystem :

  • Biotic factors are the living elements of the ecosystem.
  • Biotic components have the ability to adapt to changes in the environment. 
  • Biotic components have the ability to adapt to changes in the environment. 
  • Components of biotic factors include plants, animals, microorganisms that serve as producers or consumers of an ecosystem.
  • Examples of biotic resources include all the flora and fauna that are all the plants, animals and microorganisms. 

3. Abiotic factors of the ecosystem :

 

  • Abiotic factors are the non - living elements of the ecosystem.
  • For survival, abiotic components are independent of living components. 
  • Abiotic components are unable to adapt to changes occurring in the environment. 
  • Components of abiotic factors include climate, soil topography and other natural disturbances. 
  • Examples of abiotic components are sun, light, rain, temperature.
