The process by which an iron rod can be magnetized using the electrical method is called a solenoid. To magnetize a rod permanently, we should wrap a coil around the iron rod. Then we need to connect the two ends of the wire to the two ends of the battery. This will create the flow of electrons from one end of the rod to the other. The electrons will align and will create a north pole and south pole in the rod.
