Differences between autotrophic and heterotrophic nutrition are :
1, In autotrophic nutrition, organisms make their own food whereas, in heterotrophic nutrition, organisms derive their food from other organisms.
2. In autotrophic nutrition, chlorophyll is required whereas, in heterotrophic nutrition, chlorophyll is not required.
3. All green plants and some bacterias possess autotrophic nutrition whereas, all the animals and fungi have heterotrophic mode of nutrition.
4. In autotrophic nutrition, food is generally obtained during day-time that is at the time of photosynthesis whereas, in heterotrophic nutrition, food can obtained all the time.
