AB = 6cm

BC = 7 cm

AC = 5 cm

Steps for construction

1) Draw BC = 7cm

2) mark an arc of 6cm from point B

3) mark another arc of 5cm from point C

4) Name the point of intersection as A

5) Join AB and AC

6) \Delta ABC is formed

6) Now draw a ray BX making an acute angle with BC

7) Take scale factor 4/5 (<1)

8) marks 5 points on BX (B_1 , B_2 ,B_3 ,B_4 ,B_5 )

 such that BB_1 =B_1 B_2 =B_3B_4 = B_4 B_5

9) join \: \: B_5 C

10 ) Join join \: \: B_4 C ' || B_5 C such that C' intersects BC

11) Now draw join \: \: C 'A' || CA such that A' intersects AB

12) \Delta A'BC' is formed

 which is 4/5 \Delta ABC
