Explain the role of pituitary and ovarian hormones in the menstrual cycle of humans females.
Pituitary hormones:
FSH - These are the gonadotropins as they cause follicular development, secretion of estrogen by growing follicles.
LH - induces rupture of Graafian follicle/ovulation and after that, the remaining part of Graafian follicle transforms into corpus luteum which releases hormone-like: progesterone.
Ovarian hormone:
Estrogen- It helps in the growth and maturation of the follicle, as it is necessary for repair of the endometrium.
Progesterone - It is necessary for the maintenance of the endometrium for implantation.
