Explain the rules of noun numbers in details.

RULE 1 To form plurals of most nouns ,we  have to add -s to the singular. Ex, kite-kites

RULE 2 Nouns which end with hissing sound like -s, -ss, -sh, -ch, and x form their plural by adding -es to the singular. Ex. glass- glasses

RULE 3 Some nouns end with -o, form their pluarl by adding -es to the singular. Ex. potato-potatoes  # But we say photo-photos(exceptional)

RULE 4 Nouns which end with -f or -fe, generally for their pluarl by adding -ves. Ex. leaf-leaves  # but we say dwarf-dwarfs (exceptional)

RULE 5 Nouns ending with consonant + y form their plural by changing y-ies. Ex city-cities

RULE 6 Nouns ending with vowel + y form their plural by simply addind -s. Ex toy-toys

RULE 7 We use some nouns only in their plural form. Ex trousers - trousers

RULE 8 Some nouns do not follow any rules. Ex child- children, man-men, deer-deer
