An antibiotic is defined as the medicine which helps in inhibiting the bacterial growth or kills them. They are basically produced by one micro-organism that inhibits the growth of another micro-organisms inside a body. These drugs are only used to treat bacterial infections and no viral infections. Few examples of antibiotics are : penicillin, flucloxacillin and amoxicillin etc.
