Explain why objects moving in fluids must have special shapes.

Answers (1)

Moving objects in fluid must have special shapes because the drag force or the friction force depends on the object's shape. In order to overcome this drag, the ship has to apply a lot of force. This will result in a waste of energy. Therefore, special shapes are designed to minimize the opposing frictional force.
