Answers (1)

(i)    When silver nitrate solution is added to KI solution, a negatively charged sol is formed. It is due to the preferential adsorption of I- ions and AgI sol formed is negatively charged.

(ii)    The finely divided substance is more effective as an absorbent because more the surface area, more is the extent of adsorption.

(iii)    Luophillie colloidal are also called reversible sols because once separated these can be reformed by simple mixing.
