Mendel is known as the Father of Genetics. He worked one pea plant and gave the fundamental law of inheritance. He also discovered that genes have alternative forms and come in pairs. He also discovered that genes are inherited from each parent. He observed the segregation of parental genes and their appearances in their offspring as a expressed or non-expressive traits. He called them as dominant and recessive trait.
