Ozone is formed by there atoms of oxygen. In the higher levels of the atmosphere, it is a product of UV radiation acting on O_{2} molecules that split it into free oxygen (O). These combine with O_{2} to form Ozone

O+O_{2}\rightarrow O_{3}

Importance: It is reflected back the UV rays of the sun, which are harmful for organisms.

Depletion of Ozone: It is caused by excessive use of CFC releasing gadgets like Air conditioners, refrigerators etc.

Effect of Ozone depletion: It can cause skin cancer
