# How to write the equation of a transverse wave travelling along positive X-axis with amplitude .2m,velocity 360m/s and wavelength 60m?

Transverse wave travelling in positive x axis can be written as:-

$y=A sin (wt-kx)=A \sin 2 \pi\left[f t-\frac{x}{\lambda}\right]$, where $\omega=2\pi f\ and \ k=\frac{2\pi}{\lambda}$

$\\ Given : \\ Wavelength\ \lambda=60 \mathrm{m} \\ Velocity\ v=360 \mathrm{m} / \mathrm{s} \\ Amplitude \ A=0.2 m$

\begin{aligned} &\text { Using } \quad v=f \lambda \quad \Rightarrow f=\frac{v}{\lambda}\\ &\therefore \quad f=\frac{360}{60}=6 s^{-1} \end{aligned}

So, $y=0.2 \sin 2 \pi\left[6 t-\frac{x}{60}\right]$
