Mr. is used for male and is derived from the word master which means a boy whereas  Miss and Mrs. both were derived from the word Mistress and means the same. In history it was written by  DR Johnson who had dinner in1784 with three ladies and the older one used Mrs. with her name and the younger girls used Miss. be be differentiate between them. Thus, from then these terms have been used.
