Solution: Since x lies in the third quadrant . Therefore ,sinx is negative and tanx is positive

Now, sinx=pm sqrt1-cos^2xRightarrow sinx=-sqrt1-1/4=-sqrt3/2Rightarrow cosecx=-2/sqrt3

And,        tanx=sinx/cosx=sqrt3

Hence ,         4tan^2x-3cosec^2x=4 imes 3-3 imes 4/3=8
