In a young double slit experiment, the separation between the slits is 0.1mm and the distance between the slit and the screen is 1m. The light falling on the slits contains mainly two wavelengths 600nm and 500nm. The least distance from the centre of the fringe pattern where the intensity corresponding to one of the wavelength is zero is.......

The first dark fringe is at

\frac{\lambda D}{2d}

The least distance of dark fringe is for smaller wavelength

=\frac{500\times10^{-6} \times1}{2\times10^{-3}}=250\times10^{-3}m
