Yes, Sher Singh is a real hero in the story "Journey by Night" by Norah Burke. He was a courageous child who tried hard and got successful in saving his brother's life. He dealt with dangerous situations and life threatening conditions on his own. He saved his brother's life and was successful in his efforts of taking him to the hospital to the treatment. He faced various animals and was scared by looking their size, body and hearing their voices,  sometimes he was bearly able to save himself from attack of other animals. He was able to cross the river which was flooded keeping his brother on his back and leave him at the hospital unharmed.
