When an element lost its electrons or add oxygen or remove hydrogen in itself, this is called oxidation.

There are two steps in coversion of ethanol into ethanoic acid.

1 step :- It includes formation of ethanal, in which removal of hydrogen from ethanol takes place.

2 Step :- In the second step ethenal is converted into ethanoic acid, in which addition of oxygen occurs.
