Rape of the lock is a mock-epic/ mock-heroic poem by Alexander Pope. An epic is an heroic tale which was first written by Homer which is Iliad. A mock epic is a form of satire which adapts the heroic style of an epic poem. Pope's mock-epic poem compares the story of Belinda whose lock of hair is stolen by Baron to Homer's Iliad as if both the events are comparable and led to a war.
