Like Forests, wildlife is also a natural resource, which helps to maintain ecological balance but it is also beneficial from an economic and aesthetic point of view. There was a time when human interference was very minimal and the number of wild animals was high. There was no problem with the protection of wildlife. In addition to agriculture, industrial and other development activities arise due to the number of wild animals becoming lesser and lesser. there are so many several species that are extinct and several others are on the verge of being so. Deforestation is one of the main reasons for the loss of wildlife. The number of killings of animals is there in forests for their teeth, bones, meat, hair, skin. Therefore the need for wildlife conservation is very important in today’s world.

Increasing population, Agricultural activities, and Pollution are the main causes for the imbalance of natural wildlife. Most of the wildlife has been destroyed day by day, So, it's our urgent duty to protect our wildlife and conserve them for future use. Many countries are particularly very strict regarding the Conservation of wildlife and they promote these things by not killing those animals. The number of wild animals is decreasing day by day. The World Wildlife Fund is an international agency that is doing amazing work for the protection of wildlife.

 India is a country where they have taken several steps for the protection of our wildlife. It is a country with varied wildlife. 500 types of wild animals, 2,100 types of birds, and about 20,000 types of reptiles and fishes have been found. And some are extinct from this country or they are being on a verge of extinction these are Blackbucks, rhinoceros, chinkara, swamp, swamp deer, Indian gazelle, antelope, Tiger, gir lion, crocodile, pelican, flamingo, Mountain quail, etc. The wildlife protection act is maintained by the Indian government which was set up in 1972 they coons contains several provisions for the protection of wildlife. Apart from this the world Wildlife Protection Day is celebrated on 7th October every year.
