# Show that the image formed by a convex mirror of an object is always virtual.

Since.the ray diagram can be shown as;

we know the mirror formula:-
$\frac{1}{f}= \frac{1}{v}+\frac{1}{u}$
For a convex mirror, f is positive and u is negative

$\\\frac{1}{v}=\frac{1}{f}-\frac{1}{-u}\\\\\Rightarrow v=\frac{fu}{f+u}$

So v is positive always, which means the image is always formed behind the mirror. So the image is virtual.
