Growing up as a boy and a girl is a difficult task. We go through so many ups and downs in our life. Growing up as a boy and girl means we change a lot from birth to teenagerhood to puberty. Growing up in a household as a boy and girl has its set of challenges. These challenges include how we dress, behave, our physical appearances, our psychological make up and our worldview. Our sex makes our reality and shape our experience on a day to day basis. First it starts with our name. As we are born into this world, we are assigned a name, a female name if we are a girl and a male name if are a boy. Let's include religion in the fold of gender and making the child.In Muslims, the boy name starts with Mohammed and the girl name ends with khatoon. This name is our first identity as we grow up we continuously gain new identities through our clothes and then with the association of colours. Pink stands for girls and blue stands for boys. This later on gradually develops  into seperate objects, products usage, occupation choices and lifestyle changes as we grew up. Growing up boys and girls is a context laden task which takes place in certain political, social , historical, religious context. It is placed within a social cultural milieu.Thus, this experience is different for everyone.
