Answers (1)

Let the present age of the son is x years.

Then Sumit's present age = 3x years.

5 years later, we have

            3x + 5 = \frac{5}{2}(x + 5)

     \Rightarrow 6x + 10 = 5x + 25

    \Rightarrow x = 15

    \Rightarrow 3x = 45

So the present age of Sumit is 45 years.
