Summary of the poem "The Owl" by Ruskin Bond.

In the poem Ruskin Bond writes about The Owl that he is a night bird that acts like a watchmen and keeps an eye on the things outside in the night. He is like the sentinel of the forest , who glides over the hill slowly. After flying through the mountain ,he sits on top of a pine tree. He does all this when he is all alone in the night. His presence is very friendly and his act of being a guard is also good. He cannot cause any harm to any person from his / her voice which is sweet, soft and  mellow. His voice is softer than peacock's voice. Still, people are afraid of owl's voice. It is a superstition that Owl is a bad bird and we should afraid of its hoots. If humans can speak then Owl most also speak. They also have a right to speak. It casts no spell on anyone. The night is good and all is well.
