Summary of poem fog

It is a small poem written by Carl Sandburg. He talks about the fog and compares it to cat. Here, the word cat is used as a metaphor for fog. The arrival of fog in winter season in it the city and harbour is same as that of a cat. The season changes and fog arrives in a manner a cat arrives slowly, suddenly and without anyone noticing. Similarly, the cat goes slowly and without anyone noticing is departure so does fog. The fog like a cat sit silently on the enire city and harbour just as a cat would. A fog travels from one place to another and looks for new places to go as a cat would when the cat moves his neck around.
