The minute hand rotates 360 in one hour.

=\ \frac{360^{\circ}}{60}\times 35\ =\ 210^{\circ}

The area of the sector is given by :

\\Area\ =\ \frac{\Theta}{360^{\circ}}\times \pi r^2\\\\Area=\ \frac{210}{360^{\circ}}\times \pi \times 12^2\\\\Area=263.89 cm^2

Hence the area swept by minute hand in 35 minutes is 263.89\ cm^2 .
