The causes of extinction of Sanskrit as a language are-

1. Lack of Sanskrit speaking, reading, listening population.

2. Sanskrit language doesn't have its own news channel where viewers can understand, view, hear and read in sanskrit. 

3. As compared to other language, material in Sanskrit language is not available. 

4. The growth of vernacular languages in medieval area was the reason of decline of sanskrit as a language. 

5. Sanskrit has its original speakers in India only, it is not a global language. 

6. There is no media sources of Sanskrit in form of journalism, modern literature, no film industry, movies and music industry.
