What are the differences between normal and transition elements?

Normal elements are those elements that are placed in group 1-2 and group 3-18. The elements in these categories are either metals or non-metals. But transition elements are those elements that are placed between group 3-12. In transition elements, the last electron also goes into the d-subshell.
