Before the age of the internet and mobile phones, people used to converse via letters. Writing had a personal touch. Letters were detailed and long. Days will pass before hearing a response to the letter. Telegrams were quicker than letters but were expensive. People would patiently wait for a reply. Since the invention of mobiles and the internet, the far distances have come closer with just a few clicks away but instead of bridging long distances, interpersonal relationships have distances among them. The way of conversing has become short and quick and waiting for days is replaced by minutes. An hour late response now offends people. The internet somewhat has threatened relationships as misunderstanding arises due to delayed or short answers. The mobile phones whose main purpose is to connect people to talk is replaced with texting. People prefer texting to avoid facial confrontation. Mobile phones have severed the health of humans as it has increased chances of inactivity, cervical pain and an unhealthy lifestyle. Humans have to understand that mobile phones should rule their world. We cannot build relationships by texting. We need to use such technology with the right conscience.
