What is meant by transmissibility of force, resultant of force

Answers (1)

The principle of transmissibility states that the point of application of a force can be moved anywhere along its line of action without changing the external reaction forces on a rigid body.

If a single force acting on a body produces the same acceleration as produced by a number of forces, that single force is called the resultant of these individual forces. The resultant force is also called as net force.
