Answers (1)

  • Momentum can also be understood as "mass in motion". All objects which have mass; so if that object is moving, then it has momentum - so we can say that it has its mass in motion.

  • The momentum which is denoted by “p” of an object is defined as the product of its mass, (m) and velocity, (v). That is, momentum

                                                                                              p=mv

  • Momentum is a vector quantity because it has both direction and magnitude.. Its direction will depend on the direction of the velocity, v. It means that it has the same direction as that of the velocity vector.

  • The SI unit of momentum - kilogram-meter per second (kg m s-1).
