Petroleum is a fossil fuel found deep in the oceans. It is black, highly viscous liquid with a strong foul smell. It is formed when the organisms under the oceans were dead and buried and sealed down at the bottom of the ocean over millions of years and get covered with sand and clay. Also, due to the absence of sunlight, air,  high temperature and pressure, they are transformed into petroleum.
