Pollination is the process by which pollen is transferred from the male part that is anther to the female part that is stigma of the flower of the plant. When anther and stigma fuse together fertilization occurs. Pollination takes place in the flower-bearing plants called angiosperms. Two types of pollination are self-pollination and cross-pollination. Self-pollination occurs when pollen grains from the anther fall directly onto the stigma of the same flower. On the other hand, cross-pollination requires the movement of pollen from one flower to another flower
