Tapetum - The innermost wall layer of microsporangium is tapetum. It nourishes the developing pollen grains cells of tapetum posses dense cytoplasm and generally has more than one nucleus. It develops during microsporogenesis in the other.

Synergids - They develop during megasporogenesis in the ovule. The synergids have special cellular thickening at micropylar tip called filiform apparatus, which play an important role in guiding the pollen tube into synergid.
