two times magnified virtual image $(m)=+2$ (image is virtual)

$\frac{1}{v}+\frac{1}{u}=\frac{1}{f}\; \; \;\; \; m=\frac{-v}{u}=+2$

$\frac{-1}{24}+\frac{1}{4}=\frac{-1}{20}\; \; \; \; \; v=-24$

$u=-10\; cm$

object must be placed $10\; cm$ in front of mirror.
