Why is latent heat of vaporisation higher than the latent heat of fusion?

Answers (1)

The energy required to completely separate the molecules, moving from liquid to gas, is much greater than as compared to reduce their separationfrom solid to liquid.

Hence the latent heat of vapourization is greater that the latent heat of fusion
