Why the pressure in cathode ray discharge tube experiment is kept closed to vaccum? why it is not done entirely vaccum?​

The cathode ray tube is evacuated to a low pressure so that the electrons can move without being obstructed by air molecules. Because it is very much difficult for human to create complete vacuum and it is not cost effective
